Casillo Foundation: Respect for others with practical aid

The Vincenzo Casillo Foundation was set up in 2007 by the Casillo family: Cardenia, Francesco, Pasquale and Beniamino and their mother Vanda, to honour the memory of their father Vincenzo, the Founder of the Casillo family business. Its aim is to promote non-profit initiatives of a social, charitable and cultural nature in the region and for the region.

Vincenzo Casillo was deeply committed to promoting initiatives related to sport, culture and solidarity in the region, an ethos that the current company continues to embody today with a wide range of projects.

To commemorate the first 50 years of the business, the Vincenzo Casillo Foundation organized a huge, fund-raising charity event in 2008 at the Casillo plant in Corato. The evening saw the performance of ‘Viva Don Chisciotte!’ directed by Giampiero Borgia and starring the famous Italian actor Gigi Proietti. The play was based on Cervantes’ masterpiece ‘Don Quixote’. Tickets were sold and all money raised plus a substantial donation from the Casillo Group itself , went to buy a ‘blood- mobile’ for the local AVIS organization.
